The PGA of America is expanding its employment services to the golf public through the creation of "National Jobs in Golf Week," to be held March 18-22. Jobseekers will be able to register at PGA.com, post resumes, and search for available jobs. PGA Professionals seeking employees can scan the resumes and/or post job openings at their facility.

Fairway Systems, Inc., has announced that it is offering an expense-paid golf trip to play one of the Top 100 Golf Courses as ranked by Golf Magazine. James Keegan, President of Fairway Systems, Inc., set a goal to play all 100 before the biennial list is published again in August of 2002. As of today, he has only seven courses left to play. The company is sponsoring a threesome to accompany him to play the 99th and 100th courses. Costs covered include airfare, hotel, green fees, breakfast and dinner.

The contest is open to clients of Fairway Systems, TV broadcasters, sportswriters, golf course owners and PGA Professionals. The winners will be announced on March 31 with the rounds scheduled on May 14-15. To enter, visit the Fairway Systems website at http://www.fairway.com/ and click on "win free golf trip."

"Beyond the fact that it is a limitless arena for the full play of human nature, there is no sure accounting for golf's fascination. Obviously yet mysteriously, it furnishes its devotees with an intense, many-sided, and abiding pleasure unlike that which any other form of recreation affords. Perhaps it is, as Andrew Carnegie once claimed, an 'indespensable adjunct of high civilization.' Perhaps it is nothing more than the best game man has ever devised."

Herbert Warren Wind
from "The Complete Golfer"

* Review "EOS Sports 3.1 Cart Bag"
-----------------------------------------------------------------

This month I 'll be reviewing the Eos 3.1 Cart Bag from Eos Sports of Canada. Some of you may remember that we gave one of these away a few months ago. As I was packing it up, I realized what an ingenious product it really was, and asked for a sample for review. It's easy to see why Scottish Golf declared it the best new product of 2001.

The main benefit (and there are many) is the security that it offers. It allows you to not only lock your clubs in your bag, but to also secure the bag to any fixed object (such as a cart, bag rack, etc.) A retractable steel cable wraps around a bag rack and fits into a slot in the bag that locks with the push of a button. Also included in this locking system is a lever that pushes forward to secure your clubs in place prior to locking the bag. Now, not only can your bag not be removed, but neither can individual clubs.

But that's just the beginning. With the retractable steel cable, you can also lock a valuables pocket. The pocket is made of stainless steel threads that prevent cutting it open, adding another level of security.

Each bag also has interchangeable pockets which, depending on the weather or game being played, allow you to exchange pockets between a stand bag and a carry bag, or exchange the rain gear/apparel pocket with the Eos patented Cool-It Pocket, which keeps food and beverages cold.

Even the smallest details have been scrutinized and optimized. The placement and design of the rain hood is second to none (no more cramming it in your bag), the exterior umbrella holder and ball retriever holder are a nice touch, and the Interior Access System allows you to retrieve dropped keys from the bottom of the bag without having to turn it upside-down.

So much thought went into the design of this bag that it's easy to see how it's already won awards and accolades. Everyone who has seen it has been totally impressed, not only with its features and practicality, but with the design and ease of use as well.

If you're looking for new bags to stock in your pro shop this season, look no further.
