* The Big 6 with... Terris Golf Gloves
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Who - Who
are you?
Chris & Rita
Terris spent more than seven years in research and development - including
blind testing by top PGA, Senior PGA and LPGA Tour players, as well
as injured and uninjured recreational golfers - before bringing Terris
Golf Gloves to market this year. The innovative gloves are the design
concept of Rita Terris, P.T., C.H.T., one of the nation's premier
Physical Therapists and Certified Hand Therapists. Chris Terris is
the Chairman and Managing Partner of Terris Golf Gloves, which is
headquartered in Bellmore, Long Island, N.Y. For more information
about or to order Terris Golf gloves, call toll-free, 866.426.1482,
or visit http://www.terrisgolf.com.
2. What - What product/service do you provide to the golf community?
Terris Golf Gloves protect the skeletal and soft-tissue structure
of golfers' hands, wrists and arms, and the Competition I & II
models conform with United States Golf Association rules. The gloves
reduce the risk of injuries so golfers of all ages feel better, play
better, and play longer. Terris Golf Gloves are so good that Senior
PGA Tour star Bruce Fleisher wears a Terris Golf Glove in competition,
including during his victory Sept. 15 in the Senior PGA Tour's RJR
Championship. Other Tour professionals also wear Terris Golf Gloves
in Tour events, but their equipment contracts don't allow them to
say so.
"Terris
gloves give me the feeling of comfort, protection and security that
frees me up to swing better and, therefore, play better, without pain,"
says Fleisher, winner of the 2001 U.S. Senior Open and 15 Senior PGA
Tour events the past four years. "Protecting your hands means
likely prevention of injury. Terris Golf addresses the risks, and
this is the best way to maximize the enjoyment of the game and the
additional number of years you can participate."
3. How - How
do Terris Golf Gloves work?
Unique to the
golf-glove market, all Terris Golf Gloves exclusively feature VEP
T technology ("ViscioElastic Polymer"), manufactured by
Akton ®, in the form of 1/8-inch to 3/16-inch polymer pads placed
in different areas of each glove model. VEP helps reduce pressure
and vibration, and absorbs shock in golfers' hands, wrists and arms
(i.e. tennis and golfer's elbow) caused by the club's impact with
the ball and the ground. Terris is the only golf-glove company that
uses VEP, which is commonly used in the firearms industry to significantly
reduce the impact of recoil.
In addition to
VEP, Terris gloves are technologically unique for their proprietary
"Snap-Tab Closure System." This provides additional protection
to various aspects of the wrist as Terris gloves swivel in sync with
the lateral movement of the wrist during the swing.
Another benefit
to golfers who wear Terris gloves is the mental freedom they experience.
This freedom stems from golfers knowing that upon shot impact, they
will enjoy greatly improved shock absorption, enabling them to swing
freely and confidently. This allows greater biomechanical efficiency
and proprioception (hand-to-brain and brain-to-hand communication)
to be created.
4. Where - Where
do you sell Terris Golf Gloves?
For more information about or to order Terris Golf gloves, call toll-free,
866.426.1482, or visit http://www.terrisgolf.com.
5. When - When
did you begin, and how long have you been in business?
The company began
R&D more than seven years ago. Terris Golf Gloves went to market
this year.
6. Why - Why
should someone purchase Terris Golf Gloves instead of the
competition?
Terris Golf Gloves
feature breakthrough technology, which makes golfers who use them
less likely to develop Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, tendonitis, joint arthritis,
tennis and golfer's elbow, and other hand, wrist and arm-related debilitations
that cause extreme pain and shorten their time playing golf. Golfers
who already experience these problems find Terris gloves keep the
injuries from becoming exacerbated and, thus, help reduce their pain.
If you'd like
to participate in "The Big 6", and have you're golf company
highlighted here in future months, please send answers to "The
Big 6" to golfprohelp@gmail.com.

* Knowing The Rules
-----------------------------------------------------------------
This scenario
occurred in a Minnesota competition in May, 2001:
A player in a
four-ball stroke play tournament drove her ball from the tee into
the driving range. The driving range was not out-of-bounds. Shortly
after the drive, the four players watched as the driving range ball
picker cleared the area where the players ball had landed. The
player returned to the tee and hit again, playing her third shot to
the hole. What is the ruling?
This gal considered
her ball lost (Rule 27-1) and proceeded with the stroke and distance
penalty, which is incorrect. Had she been more familiar with the rules,
she would have known that a ball at rest moved by an outside agency
(the range picker) must be replaced with no penalty (Rule 18-1).
