The American Society of Golf Course Architects has partnered with GCSAA to give golf facilities an online resource that explains the steps involved in evaluating a golf course remodeling or renovation project. The new online modules will cover this same content in a self-paced format. "Remodeling 101: Examining and Evaluating your Facility" is available at http://www.gcsaa.org/learn/online/remodeling101.asp, to help golf course decision-makers determine if it’s time to remodel, renovate or restore their course. It will also be available at http://www.remodelinguniversity.org. The remaining two modules of the program are expected to be online within the next eight months.

PGA Golf Exhibitions has finalized its schedule of events and programs at the 2003 PGA Fall Expo, Aug. 5-7, in San Diego. An education conference, offering more than 40 professional development sessions, will be presented the first two days of the expo, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the exhibit hall and product demonstrations open those days from noon to 5:30 p.m. On Aug. 7, the exhibit hall will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The expo is expected to feature some 200 golf-related exhibitors covering more than 50,000 net square feet of exhibition space. The event also will feature an outdoor hitting and putting area adjacent to San Diego Bay. Buyers can register online at www.pgaexpo.com or by calling 800-840-5628.

During the 2003 ING Spring Conference in Colorado, Andrew Wyant of Natural Golf invited all golfers the opportunity to take a 90 minute clinic for free, with the only cost being range balls at the particular course. "We are so confident that Natural Golf is an easier way to strike a golf ball, we want to make sure that all who have not experienced Natural Golf get an opportunity to work with one of our 150 instructors from around the country and see for themselves how fun and easy Natural Golf is to learn."

NOTE FROM EDITOR: I found a great site for tournament directors, that allows you to print out scorecards prior to a tournament, that will include that includes room for strokes, names, pops, etc. It has to be seen to be believed. Here's all you have to do: Visit http://www.customscorecards.com, choose your state (or province for Canada), then choose your course. When the scorecard pops up, choose "Click here to customize this scorecard". Go right to the advanced mode, and add all the information you want to show up on the scorecards. Under the Additional Lines, feel
free to include Sandies, Greenies, Polies, or whatever you can think of. Finish, and choose "click here to print your scorecard". This is the kind of item that the Internet was made for.

* The Big 6 with... SpecialTee
------------------------------------------------------------

1. Who is SpecialTee Products?
SpecialTee Products is a division of the Mississippi Industries for Individuals with Disabilities (M.I.I.D.) under the direction of Ellisville State School. We are a group of 12 workshops who employ individuals with mental retardation and/or physical disabilities. M.I.I.D. employs a total of 325 people with about 75 of those working directly for SpecialTee Products. There are 100 more of our clients who need this type of packaging work.

2. What products/service does SpecialTee Products provide the golf community?
We provide bagged golf tees to over 300 golf facilities across the United States. We have sold over 42 million golf tees. That's over 1,408 miles of tees! We also produce plastic cutlery kits for 19th holes, facility banquets, or tournament cookouts.

3. How does SpecialTee Products work?
In the past, we have taken orders for golf tees over the phone (601-477-6500). We will still do this, but we have added other ways to order. Customers may place orders via our website, http://www.specialteeproducts.com, which emails the order directly to us, or customers may just email rsdossett@specialteeproducts.comto
place an order.

4. Where does SpecialTee Products sell their products?
We sell our products wherever UPS goes. As far as we know, UPS goes everywhere. We will get your order to your Pro Shop. That's a promise!

5. When did SpecialTee Products begin?
SpecialTee Products is a new name for an old company. M.I.I.D. began employing individuals with disabilities in 1978. It wasn't until 1993 that the clients at M.I.I.D. began bagging golf tees, after some solid advice and guidance from past President of the PGA of America, J.R. Carpenter. As mentioned above, since that time these 75 individuals with mental retardation and/or physical disabilities have kept over 300 customers nationwide completely satisfied.

6. Why should someone purchase golf tees and plastic cutlery kits from SpecialTee Products instead of the competition?
First, we are a non- profit institution which provides a quality product (the same tee used on the PGA Tour) at affordable prices while creating jobs for individuals who truly need them. Having a job builds self esteem and enhances the lives of our clients. We know because we see it every day! Our products look no different than the ones you would buy from the giant for-profit corporations who utilize bagging machines to create their products. We choose to employ individuals who come to work on time every day. They do this because they love their jobs. Second, we promise to ship your order the same day it is placed. Third, our bagged gold tees are price competitive and fourth, our products are guaranteed!
