Golf trophies
Five (5) trophies at the Bobby Jones exhibit. It's the only time in history when all five were in the same place at the same time.
The Walker Cup
"The Walker Cup"
In 1920, USGA President George Herbert Walker purchased this cup from Tiffany and Co. to develop a competition between the U.S. and Great Britain. George's grandson and great-grandson have both held the office of President of the United States.
The Claret Jug
"The Claret Jug"
Trophy of The Open Championship
US Amateur Trophy
"US Amateur Trophy"
The original Havemeyer was a silver trophy that was eventually destroyed in a fire at East Lake, Bobby Jones' home club. The USGA decided not to replicate the original, and instead designed what you see above.
The Amateur Championship
"The Amateur Championship"
Trophy given to the winner of Great Britains' Amateur Championship
US Open trophy
"U.S. Open"
The original two-handed US Open cup was destroyed in a fire in 1946 at Lloyd Mangrum's home club, Tam O'Shanter, outside Chicago. In this case, the USGA decided to replicate the original design, seen above.
