FAIRFIELD, IA--(June 25, 2002)--A new book for golfers has arrived courtesy
of Bob Sanny who has written and published "The Complete Guide
to Bogey Golf." Sanny estimates that 75 to 90 percent of all golfers
score in the 90's or higher and any or all of them could benefit from
this compilation of golf wisdom for the everyday man. He is quick to
point out that this is a serious book to help golfers play respectably
well and enjoy the experience. Recognizing that most recreational golfers
play at a level that makes "playing like Tiger" or even playing
anywhere close to scratch out of reach, he has addressed the reality
for the majority of those who swing a club.
Sanny has merged a 20 year career in publishing with his longtime love for weekend golf to create a simple, easy to read and follow instructional discussion on how to play good enough while eliminating delusions of playing great. His viewpoint on golf is based on a belief that enjoyment is the first purpose of golf and that creating a situation for scoring acceptably well adds to that enjoyment. Conversely, he points out that focusing on technique and unrealistically low scores is often contrary to the recreational reasons people play golf in the first place.
The book is a blend of philosophy and technique. While it details proven ways anyone can realistically raise the level of their game, it professes an easy-going attitude. This in turn allows for the achievement of lower scores which multiplies the satisfaction of playing the game. The following chapter titles reveal a few of the ideas in the book particularly tailored to the average golfer: "Cut Your Options: The Value of Carrying Fewer Clubs," "Take It Easy: Minimizing Risk in Your Game," "Blow Up Holes: Avoiding Them and Dealing with Them," and "Tips for Golfers Who May Need Added Help."
