ST. AUGUSTINE,
FL--(October 24, 2002)--Pete McCann, who has caddied for such legends
of the game as Sam Snead, Lionel Hebert, Doug Ford and Doug Sanders
will be at The First Tee Learning Curve on November 15th at 12 noon
for his induction into the PCA Worldwide Caddie Hall of Fame, Looper
story telling and media interviews. The four inductees will be treated
to a reception at the Sheraton's Vistana Resort sponsored by Club
Glove, Waterford Crystal, Oasis Restrant and Gypsy Cab Company. The
PCA is planning to open their golf museum and Hall of Fame in 2003

The interview
focused on McCann's upcoming induction into the Professional Caddie
Association's (PCA) Worldwide Caddie Hall of Fame for 2002. The ceremony
will talk place inside The First Tee Learning curve, which is open
to the public.
Spanning a career
of more than 60 years, the 78-year-old looper has been caddying since
he was 12 years old, rising to prominence on Sam Snead's bag when
Snead donned the green jacket for 1949.
Currently a club
caddie at the Alpine Country Club near New York City, McCann remains
active on the pro circuit, mostly recently as Spike McRoy's looper
for the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage.
Joining McCann,
as inductees in the PCA's fourth Caddie Hall of Fame ceremony are
Caddie-Masters Pat Collins, the soul of Winged Foot Golf Club in New
York USA and Martin Roy, Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus, Scotland
who has won many honors and has been at the club since 1967. The Caddies
include Carl S. Laib, who helped LPGA great Patty Sheehan to 28 wins
including seven majors. Leonard (Lenny) Ciccone has led the caddie
program at New Jersey's Montclair Country Club for some 65 years,
and has been on Yankee baseball legend Yogi Berra's bag since 1988.
Sam Johnson, a caddie in the Philadelphia Section PGA for 50 years,
Scott Huston, Arnold Palmer's longtime caddie whenever the King traveled
to Pebble Beach. The oldest working looper is 83 year young Pedro
Eulalio Lopez Gonzalez, Tijuana Country club in Mexico who will round
out the dais on November 15 when the formal induction ceremony will
take place. The Lynda Barco Award for support to PCA and the game
will be presented to Mike Granuzzo, Founder of CSI
*Our New CaddieCastle-Celebrity Award (CCCA) will be presented in
2003 for loopers in the limelight that have publicly shared how the
caddie years positive Life lessons help mold them. Their nominees
so far are:
*Martin Sheen,
the role model and TV President who was a caddie with his brothers
looping and learning life lessons.
*Shirley Povich,
75 years with the Washington Post & Baseball Hall of Fame inductee.
His early days as a caddie lead him to the Hall.
*The Murray Brothers
for their looping days and awareness they have brought to the profession
that dates back over 500 years.
The PCA is a
worldwide association of over 3500 professional caddies and supporters.

benefits. The PCA will be announcing a major expansion into the UK
