Perfect-Tee selected by LDA as its "official golf tee"
SANTA BARBARA, CA--(October 8, 2002)--ACORN Golf announced today that its new proprietary three-inch golf tee, called the Perfect-Tee, has been selected by the Long Drivers of America (LDA) as its "official golf tee." ACORN Golf is one of LDA's Title Sponsors and will be actively involved in the RE/MAX World Long Drive Event in Mesquite, Nevada on October 15-17, 2002 and at all 2003 LDA events.
The new long Perfect-Tee has been tested by LDA members and past National winners and found to perform as advertised - i.e., longer, straighter, and more accurate drives can be achieved by using the Perfect-Tee.
The original
versions of the Perfect-Tee have been on the market since January
of 2000 where they were officially introduced at the Orlando 2000
PGA Show. At this time there are an estimated 500,000 golfers using
the Perfect-Tee. The Perfect-Tee offers some great advantages to golfers
over traditional wood golf tees - longer, straighter, and more accurate
drives, the tee doesn't break because it is made from super strong
aero-space composite material, the tee head is 18% larger than a wood
golf tee, golf balls can be teed up to the same height each and every
time. The Perfect-Tee can also be used to repair ball marks on the
green and clean debris from golf club head grooves and shoe spikes.
The first Perfect-Tees introduced in 2000 come in two versions: 2.25-inch
for use with regular sized driver heads and 1.5-inch for use with
irons and fairway woods. With the development of oversized driver
heads and golfers who prefer to tee their golf ball up high, the longer
three-inch Perfect-Tee was the "perfect" solution.
The Perfect-Tee is approved for use under the Rules of Golf by the USGA and the R&A. Perfect-Tees come in three standard colors: yellow, white, and lavender.
