SST PURE Records Major Weekend
with Harrington, Meunier-Lebouc
MIAMI (April 1, 2003) ? The SST PURE® shaft alignment process demonstrated its versatility this weekend with a second-place finish by Padraig Harrington at THE PLAYERS Championship and a major win at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
Harrington, who had a new set of irons PUREd on Tuesday before the tournament, shot rounds of 67-68-70-72 to record his best finish on the PGA TOUR. Harrington first had his clubs PUREd before last year's U.S. Open, where he finished tied for eighth. Since then he has won three times worldwide and has recorded nine top-10 finishes.
Patricia Meunier-Lebouc also experienced the benefits of SST PURE last summer when she had her clubs PUREd the week of her inaugural LPGA victory at the State Farm Classic. On Sunday, Meunier-Lebouc won the Kraft Nabisco Championship, holding off world No. 1 Annika Sorenstam down the stretch to record her first major.
The SST PURE shaft alignment process
works by analyzing the the structural irregularities that exist in
any golf shaft. Using proprietary computer software and sensitive
data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process locates
the shaft's most stable orientation and neutralize the adverse effects
of those irregularities. When the club is assembled with the shaft
in this PUREd orientation,
off-line bending and twisting are minimized and impact repeatability
on the center of the club face improves up to 51 percent. The process,
which has been utilized by over 170 PGA TOUR players, can be performed
on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts -- steel or graphite --
from most major manufacturers.
Upon having his shafts SST PURE aligned, a player receives a personalized computer printout confirming the process and an SST PURE shaft label for every shaft that has been PUREd.
