Fuzzy Zoeller's Putting Invention Named Top
Training/Putting Aid of the 2003 PGA Show
Orlando, FL - February 4th, 2003 -- Dr. Barry Lotz, director of the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America named Zoeller's inventions "The Putting Peg TM" and "The Putting Pod TM" as the best teaching/training aids of the 2003 PGA Show.
"I have been using both the Peg and the Pod religiously since the beginning of the 2002 season, and I know they have improved my putting drastically," said Zoeller. "I am starting to see other PGA TOUR and Champions TOUR professionals using them, so I suppose the secret is now out," he continued. "Sometimes we get so wrapped up in how far we can hit it, we forget that scoring is accomplished by getting the ball into the hole."
Zoeller won The 2002 Senior PGA Championship at Firestone Country Club and tallied and amazing ten one-putt greens on the final day on his way to victory. Another notable example is PGA TOUR professional Robert Gamez, who went from 145th to 12th in putting in just one season while using Zoeller's putting aids.
Zoeller's aids combine the benefits of putting to a small target (1 ¼ inches in diameter as compared to a regulation golf hole at 4 ¼ inches) with the positive psychological benefit a player experiences when hearing the ball fall in the hole. This is accomplished by a patent pending mini speaker and battery system that emits the sound of a ball falling in the hole when the unit is struck by a golf ball.
