ING Spring Conference Names Eagle Ridge As 2004 Host
LAKE MARY, FL -- Eagle Ridge Inn & Resort, a Golf Magazine Silver Medal Resort near historic Galena,
IL, has been selected to host the 14th edition of the ING Spring Conference
June 1-5, 2004. The resort is a favorite getaway for Chicago residents,
and is a picturesque two-hour drive from Chicago and 20 minutes from
the airport in Dubuque, Iowa.
Over 200 people are expected at this annual gathering of media and
golf industry leaders, conducted in conjunction with the 14-year-old
International Network of Golf Members Association. INGMA is a non-profit
organization whose mission is to enhance and promote communication
and education in golf.
Eagle Ridge is a perfect site for ING, with a wide variety of accommodations,
outstanding meeting space and four diverse golf courses, all designed
by Roger Packard. Leader of the pack is The General, which opened
in 1997 and earned Golf Digest¹s Top 10 Best New Upscale Courses
ranking. The North, South and East courses, just like The General,
feature dramatic elevation change and challenging green complexes.
Accommodations include the charming 80-room Inn, which is perched
on a bluff overlooking 220-acre Lake Galena. Most of the rooms and
suites, come with walkout balconies to enjoy the lake and abundant
wood lands. ING also will utilize 3-, 4- and 5-bedroom Resort Homes,
and 2- and 3-bedroom Resort Villas, all with scenic views of the countryside.
All resort home accommodations receive the same level of service as
Inn guests, including daily maid service and room service.
The ING Conference was held at Keystone Resort in Colorado earlier
this month, and attracted many of the major golf associations, four
dozen leading golf companies and over six dozen golf media from across
North America. TaylorMade, Top-Flite and Tour Edge all launched new
products at this conference, and Athlon Sports introduced its new
Athlon Golf Bag program.
A diverse ING itinerary will be in place, with workshops, speakers,
the Demo Lab and Skills Challenge, the Progressive Presentations Dine-Around
and the The ING Exhibition Hall GolfEXPO. There will also be plenty
of golf and networking opportunities, as well as the annual INGMA
Media Awards banquet and the second annual ING Golo Golf Championship,
where the ING Jacket will be up for grabs.
