MIAMI (March. 18, 2003) ? The SST PURE
shaft alignment process now will be widely available in England and
beyond, Strategic Shaft Technologies, LC, announced Tuesday.
The Golf Factory, Ltd., of London has
entered into a long-term marketing and distribution agreement with
SST to offer SST PURE technology throughout England as well as Spain,
Portugal, France, Wales, Scotland, Egypt and the Republic of South
Africa. The Golf Factory will offer SST PURE, the patented alignment
process to minimize the negative effects of shaft irregularities during
a golf swing, to its custom clubfitting customers and to custom clubfitters
throughout the United Kingdom. It also will offer SST PURE as standard
for at least one line of clubs.
"We are proud to join forces with
The Golf Factory to bring SST PURE to golfers throughout Europe, Egypt
and South Africa," SST founder Dick Weiss said. "This expansion
will enhance our efforts to expose golfers in Europe and beyond to
the consistency and confidence that our patented SST PURE technology
offers."
Multiple patented PUREing machines will
be installed at The Golf Factory to accommodate the existing demand.
More SST PURE licensees will be added throughout Europe in the coming
months, including Ireland this fall.
"We are aggressively pursuing the
latest golf technology to offer state-of-the-art services to our clientele,
and the SST PURE shaft alignment process is on the forefront,"
Golf Factory managing director Michael Pettigrew said. "We feel
that this agreement will help us raise the bar for the clubfitting
standard in Europe."
Every golf shaft contains structural
irregularities, and these irregularities can cause adverse effects
during the golf swing. Using proprietary computer software and sensitive
data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes
a shaft to locate its most stable orientation and neutralize the adverse
effects of irregularities that exist in every shaft. When the club
is assembled with the shaft in this PUREd orientation, off-line bending
and twisting are minimized and
impact repeatability on the center of the clubface improves up to
51 percent. The process, which has been utilized by over 170 PGA TOUR
players, can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts
-- steel or graphite -- from most major manufacturers.
Upon having his shafts SST PURE aligned,
a player receives a personalized computer printout confirming the
process and an SST PURE shaft label for every shaft that has been
PUREd. The SST PURE process of golf shaft alignment is available at
SST PURE licensees around the United States and now overseas. For
