FlightScope by EDH Sport to be Featured at Metropolitan Section PGA Seminars
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (June 3, 2005) - FlightScope by EDH Sport, a premier ball-flight monitor, has been invited to present its technology at two upcoming Metropolitan Section PGA seminars. EDH Sport personnel will demonstrate FlightScope at the seminars, which will focus on launch monitors. The programs, which will take place from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., will be held June 7th at Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley, NY, and June 8th at Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Ct. FlightScope is the only participating company which is a technology partner of the PGA of America.
“Some of the hottest technology for teaching and clubfitting has come from the launch monitor sector of the business,” said Charlie Robson, executive director of the Metropolitan Section PGA. “We are excited to be able to bring this emerging technology to our pros in a setting that will allow them not only to look at the equipment but to see it in use and to evaluate how it can fit into their needs.”
The Section presented a technology seminar in March with great success, Robson said. For the upcoming seminars, participating companies will set up their technology and equipment on the range, where attending PGA Professionals can ask questions and enjoy hands-on experience.

FlightScope, in use at high-profile teaching academies and clubfitting venues around the world, is known for its ease of use as well as the precision and accuracy of its technology. Introduced at last year's PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla., the portable indoor-outdoor ball-flight monitor has been installed at the PGA of America Learning Center in Port St. Lucie, Fla. FlightScope now is being used by Fujikura, the #1 graphite shaft on the PGA Tour for the past four years.
FlightScope provided its technology to Golf Digest for use during some of the magazine's equipment testing sessions for its second annual "Hot List" published in its February 2005 edition. Multiple FlightScope systems now are in use at the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson, Nev.
FlightScope employs a Phase Array Tracking Sensor and proprietary technology to record accurately the trajectory and to provide actual launch data. The characteristic distinguishing FlightScope from existing launch monitor technology is that FlightScope is the only product in the world that can record the trajectory accurately in the precise environment in which the ball travels, thereby providing actual rather than implied data. The resultant ability of golfers, club fitters and instructors to see the actual ball trajectory at various angles allows them to make precise adjustments for enhanced performance.
EDH, founded in 1989 by Henri Johnson, an inventor and electronic engineer, is a product-development company based in Stellenbosch, near Cape Town in South Africa, with its U.S. office in Bethlehem, Pa. EDH, which develops products for the military and sports markets, has as its core expertise the design and development of 3D tracking radar systems.
